I chose the Integrated National Pool Lifeguard with First Aid at Work and AED course offered by the University of Gloucestershire as it is great value for money for the qualifications available. My aim was to use the qualification to boost my CV for getting a job over the summer as well as during my time at uni and beyond. I really enjoyed the course, although there is a lot of information to learn within a week, the way Lara (Trainer) worked through the days made it easier for information to be taken on board. The mix of class and pool sessions each day really helped, and there was time for us to practice anything we were unsure of throughout the week so we were all confident for the assessments. A week and a half after passing the course I was offered a job as a lifeguard at my local Lido and Leisure centre. I would highly recommend this course as Lara was extremely helpful throughout, making sure everyone understood and could do all that we went through.
